General Archeological Information
The church of Michail Archaggelos is situated in the centre of the village of Monastiraki. It is a single-nave church which dates from the beginning of the 14th century.

The south side of the church is decorated with three pointed, blind arches. The entrance of the church is decorated with two gothic arches, one over the other. The arches are supported by columns which do not touch the ground (hanging arches).

A mural with the depiction of the "Conception of the Virgin Mary" is one of the few remnants of the fresco decoration that has survived in the interior of the church.
